Congratulations on your pregnancy

Learn relaxation techniques so that you can give your baby a welcome that is calm, gentle and safe. Hypnobirthing teaches you that, in the absence of fear and tension, severe pain does not have to be an accompaniment of labour.

You will gain an understanding of how the birthing muscles work in perfect harmony – as they were designed to – when your body is sufficiently relaxed. You will learn this kind of relaxation, free from resistance that fear creates, and you will learn to use your natural birthing instincts for a calm, serene and comfortable birth.

You will not be in a trance or asleep. What you will experience will be similar to daydreaming or being completely focused on one specific thing. You will be conversant, in control and aware of your body’s surges and your baby’s progress. You will have trained yourself to reach complete relaxation and determine the degree and manner you feel your surges.  Relaxed muscles function as nature intended – releasing your body’s natural relaxant, endorphins, replacing the stress hormones that constrict and cause pain.

Imagine If… Your Labour Was Shorter

  • You might not need to use any anaesthesia
  • You feel energised after the birth
  • You are comfortable and relaxed during labour and birth
  • You experience an ecstatic birth
  • Your baby is calmer, more relaxed and feeds well

About Us

The Mongan Method of HypnoBirthing® is the longest running community dedicated to using hypnosis in childbirth. It was founded in the United States in early 1989 by Marie “Mickey” Mongan, who is a licensed counselor and former dean of a small women’s college. The Mongan Method of HypnoBirthing® is the pioneer and leader in birth education with hypnosis. Several decades and thousands of classes later, HypnoBirthing® is the most widely used childbirth hypnosis program in the world. Today, there are HypnoBirthing® practitioners in 46 countries around the world who are helping women become aware of the benefits of calm, instinctive birthing for themselves and their babies.
